Major Accounting Firm Supports Collective and Student-Athletes
May 16, 2023
House of Victory is proud to announce its collaboration with Baker Tilly US, LLP, a leading advisory CPA firm, to provide forward-thinking business management services for the collective and contracted student-athletes. This marks one of the first official collaborations between a Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) collective and a major accounting firm. Baker Tilly was recently ranked as the 10th largest accounting firm in the United States according to INSIDE Public Accounting’s 2022 Top 100 list.
As part of this growing relationship, Baker Tilly will support House of Victory with a full suite of comprehensive accounting and tax services including, but not limited to, assisting in managing incoming funds and expenses, budget analysis, issuing athlete payments, tax planning and compliance, and day-to-day recordkeeping. On behalf of House of Victory, Baker Tilly will also offer complimentary consultation to each student-athlete signed by House of Victory providing an overview of services and an explanation of 1099 payments and tax implications. Additionally, Baker Tilly can offer personal tax return preparation services for any contracted House of Victory student-athlete.
When House of Victory launched last month as an alumni-backed nonprofit NIL collective and proud sponsor of USC Athletics, its founders sought to build a comprehensive platform to provide student-athletes support services beyond financial compensation. With student-athletes now having the ability to monetize their name, image, and likeness, House of Victory, with Baker Tilly’s support, is committed to educating and empowering USC student-athletes with resources and knowledge to navigate personal finances, tax regulations and strategy.
"As a proud USC alumna, I am especially excited to work with House of Victory to provide student-athletes with the support they need to navigate the complex world of personal finances and tax strategy," said Andrea Leventhal, CPA, Baker Tilly Director of Business Management. "Our collaboration will help ensure that USC student-athletes have access to the tools and resources they need to succeed."
"House of Victory is always going to operate with the best interests of our supporters and student-athletes. Teaming with such an established firm like Baker Tilly displays House of Victory’s commitment to building a trusted and sustainable platform to support today’s and tomorrow’s NIL needs," said Spencer Harris, Executive Director for House of Victory.
